Rally di Monza 2011
The first edition of the "Rally di Monza" dates back to 1978, when the Organizers of the Monza Circuit chose to open the doors of the mythic track to Rally cars.Even if the "Rally di Monza" appeared as an "hybrid" race, at the very beginning it was quite similar to a proper Rally, with Special Stages run along the dirt roads inside the motordrome.
Later on it became compulsory to use only the asphalt speed track, so that thanks to this special configuration the "Rally di Monza" could number various F1 and MotoGp Champions among its participants in addition to a long line-up of rally Champions! With the passing of the years the event transofrmed its nature from a simple Rally race into a greater show made of multiple attractions and changed its name into "Monza Rally Show".
During its more than 30 years history, the "Monza Rally Show" has enrolled a large group of top international drivers such as: Alessandro Zanardi, Colin McRae, Dani Sordo, Dindo Capello, Giancarlo Fisichella, Ivan Capelli, Jean Alesì, Loris Capirossi, Marku Alen, Markus Gronholm, Michele Alboreto, Miki Biasion, Valentino Rossi and many other prime importance national drivers even come abreast of big names of the show business!
Champions and show: this is the mix that has enabled the "Monza Rally Show" to become a "classic" and unmissable date in the italian motorsports calendar!
